Du DuDu Duuuu! After six months of asking when his birthday is going to be, Brakken ran into our room at 7:30 A. M. on March 3rd with one of the balloons we had blown up for his decorations declaring, it was FINALLY his birthday. We can't believe how fast time has gone. Everyday Brakken makes us laugh with his clever and funny statements, he impresses us with his kindness and caring, and he shows us how much trouble we are going to be in during the teenage years with his mischief and control issues (he is the oldest)....

The Gala
Last night Erik and I attended a gala put on by the pharmacy program ...very exciting! I finally had a reason to wear the red cocktail dress that has been sitting in my closet for 5 years. Other than getting to dress up it wasn't what I anticipated. It took us 15 minutes to find a seat since there wasn't enough chairs. The food was suppose to be delicious but it was a big flop, (Luckily I had made lasagna for the boys dinner so we had that to come home to) they actually ran out of food at the open house style event, so anyone after seven didn't get anything but dessert crepes to eat. But it wasn't ALL bad. The money went to a great charity which really was the reason for going and the auction seemed like it went pretty well. I finally met the people that spend more time with my husband than I do and really liked them...I even found a new hair dresser that is a spouse of one of Erik's better friends at school. The view from on top of the Rice-Eccles Stadium was AMAZING! I so regret not taking the camera. Erik and I won a giftcard from the raffle to THE PIE (yay! I have been craving the veggi pie from there and we can't afford that place). Most importantly I had a night out ALONE with the man I love oh so much. Really the amount of dates Erik and I go on in a year is about three....Anniversary and Birthdays. Any extra nights I get with him mean so much to me....THANKS Kayla for coming up from Provo to watch the boys I am so grateful!

HE MADE DRUGS!
BOYS!?!?!
I grew up in a family of five girls...poor dad. These boys are so new to me I laugh pretty much daily at the things they do, say, and come up with.
So this is a typical day(minus the fights and time-outs)...
We turn into pirates...
Brakken can do most of the creations in the book but
Skiing World Cup/ Dew Tour
Erik heard about the world cup being at Deer Valley so we decided to go watch the moguls event.
It was a pretty fun except the sun was going down and smart mommy hadn't packed enough layers for us all.
The kids were a little unhappy when that happened. Hey, it was very spontaneous of a decision to go and I had
less than a hour to get everyone ready. I enjoyed it though...after all it was FREE!
Our friend, Kim, was working the Dew Tour. We had plans to go watch events and see her a little(she lives in Denver
so we don't see her enough). After the whole World Cup thing we were a little nervous about the kids. Luckily we
decided to go and it was AWESOME! The sun was out with blue sky, thanks to the worst air quality in the nation we haven't
seen that recently, the downfall... I over-layered everyone. The boys loved it. Ryker kept trying to slide down the
hill with his boots and would say "I'm skiin'!"
Kim gave the boys beanies that were big they looked like
gangsters....Our friend Jeff was up there and through a quick sign
(HE'S NOT A GANGSTER!)
We hardly ever get those so I was sooo grateful

Merry Christmas...
I just wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. I hope that Santa is able to bring you all that you want on your list, I hope you get to spend time with family and friends, and most importantly I hope you remember the Reason of the Season and take time to remember Christ and all he did for us! The Twelve Days of Christmas...
Most of you have heard me rant about how poor we are this year, like most college student families. The kids of course will be well taken care of, but I just kept thinking about Erik and how I wanted to do something special for him since he works so hard, and gives so much up to make our life better. I was driving home from Ogden thinking about just this when the 12 days of Christmas came on the radio and I thought I could do this so cheap. I am starting on the 14th so it will end on Christmas. The week I start will be finals so I really tried to come up with things he could take to school with him and that won't annoy him (he gets a little annoyed when he's stressed out). Here's what I got.....
On the ____ day of Christmas your true love gave to you....
1. A Partridge in a Pear Tree...
Well, a pear picked by me
and bought as a grocery.
2. Two Turtle Doves...
How about two bars of Dove
And a rubber turtle that can join in the tub.
3. Three French Hens...
It was a little pricey to have French Hens sent
So this American chicken wrap was made for your eating enjoyment.
4. Four Calling Birds...
Those four birds flew south it's true
But they left some messages for you...
(I don't think he would like if I shared those but I just wrote him four notes that were sweet)
5. Five Golden Rings..
Apparently I lose bagels just like a certain ring
I hope you enjoy one bagel... at least it's multi-grain!
(If you don't know I lost my wedding ring a couple years ago.)
6. Six Geese a Laying...
Those geese left their eggs just for the taking
So for your breakfast a six egg skillet I am making.
7. Seven Swans a Swimming...
Look closely on the origami swans' wings
They'll get you out of seven diaper changings.
8. Eight Maids a Milking....
Maids don't really milk anymore
Here's your very own gallon bought at the store.
9. Nine Ladies Dancing....
Yeah like I'm going to let you watch nine chicks dance
How about some Pirouette cookies that might make you prance.
10. Ten Lords a Leaping...
I know you don't want to watch ten guys leap
So here's the underwear you desperately need.
11. Eleven Pipers Piping
That sounds loud and very annoying
Instead I made you "piping" hot coffee to get your morning going.
(you could do hot chocolate if you aren't a coffee addict like we are)
12. Twelve Drummers Drumming....
This cd was made with love
there's twelve songs that all have the drums.
I'll let you know how things go. Hopefully he likes it.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
